Probiotics vs. Prebiotics

Probiotics vs. Prebiotics

You  have probably heard Probiotics and Prebiotics talked about in positively influencing our health and you may have thought why don't we give them to our four-legged family members?

The truth is most people do not understand the key difference between PRObiotics and PREbiotics.  Probiotics are the live beneficial bacteria that live in the gut and mouth, among other places.  Probiotics are necessary for supporting the digestive system and our immune system.  The fact is that both humans and our pups could not survive without these healthy bacteria in us. These healthy bacteria in us help train our immune systems, digest our food, and actually help to fight off bad bacteria but they are very hard to deliver because they have to pass through the highly acidic stomach.  PREbiotics on the other hand are the special food needed to grow probiotics.  When the probiotics in our microbiome don't receive proper nourishment our microbiome can become unbalanced resulting in poor gut health, and immune deficiencies.  Our special Probiotic "Petliva" feeds and targets growth of our good bacteria while also thickening the lining of the intestine.  This can help prevent a condition known as “leaky gut,” syndrome. Leaky gut in pets (and humans) and can lead to immune health issues, weight gain, fatigue, digestive discomfort, stiff, achy joints, and even skin and coat problems.

Insufficient intake of quality prebiotics then spells bad news and with our pet diets often coming from processed kibble and unhealthy human snacks many of our pets end up with chronic health issues like tooth decay, bad breath, skin and coat issues, joint problems and all kinds of digestive discomfort.

Why Should Dogs get Prebiotics?

As you now know, Prebiotics support the growth of -> Probiotics, which help keep bad bacteria under control in the dog’s gut.  Prebiotics also help with nutrient absorption, and can keep our immune systems tuned up while working to prevent leaky gut syndrome.  For you, as a pup parent, it all means healthier coats, fresh breath, healthier teeth and gums and less diarrhea, gas and digestive discomfort.  Furpeeps Labs patented blend of superfood prebiotics gives you the peace of mind of knowing you are giving your dog the very best tasting treats along with world class clinical validation and the nutrition they need for their overall health and vitality.

In addition to scientific research and the benefits of prebiotics, our treats are damn delicious, and free of preservatives. Dogs love treats so why not make them healthy treats!
